Database Manager
The integrated database in Spectromania can store mass spectrometric data, metadata and a preview of the corresponding display. This allows for a quick access to data and a batch processing (2D statistics)
The database allows for a convenient access to spectra stored in the database. The thumbnail of each display helps in navigation and recognition of the desired dataset. Single displays or even multiple displays can loaded into the main program. Additionally corresponding metadata can be stored. Of course it is possible to search the database for certain criteria.
This short movie (movie duration: 3 min., 6 MB, format: .m4v) demonstrates how easily a large amount of data can be evaluated:
The datasets stored in the database can be loaded into the main window of Spectromania to perform statistical calculations. For example data can be correlated to a defined variable or even a distinct signal.
This example demonstrate a correlation analysis.
Background:
The detection of the activation peptide of blood coagulation factor XIII and its variants in human serum are shown. The activation peptide can possess an amino acid exchange at position 34 (Val34Leu). In this example mass specgtrometric data of serum samples from homozygous (either VV or LL) individuals were analyzed to demonstrate the power of a full resolution correlation analysis.
